About the Role
Tamworth Hospital is looking for a WHS Coordinator to provide operational assistance and advisory service to the General Manager and Peel Integration and Risk Manager and to line managers in the management of WHS and the prevention of workplace accident and injuries. There is a requirement for the provision of a high quality customer focused WHS consultancy and advisory service to managers to facilitate the effective management of WHS within the workplace serviced. The position will facilitate a risk management approach to ensure appropriate management of WHS risks including hazardous manual tasks. The successful person will provide operational assistance and advisory service to the Peel Sector Executive and to line managers in the management of Work Health Safety (WHS) and the prevention of workplace accident and injuries. The successful applicant will be support by the Executive Management team at Tamworth Hospital as well as with necessary training.

About the Facility
Tamworth Hospital is one of the New England’s largest regional hospitals, recently refurbished to boast brand new, state of the art facilities. Tamworth Hospital is a major Rural Referral Hospital providing services to the North-West area of NSW. In July 2015, we opened the doors to a new $220 million acute services redevelopment; equipped with 348 treatment spaces; we conduct over 8000 surgical procedures per annum over five theatre spaces. Tamworth Hospital has a 24 hour Emergency Department and high level Surgical and Medical services. The hospital also provides a range of outpatient services. The WHS Coordinator works closely with all levels of management and staff and ancillary services at the hospital to promote a safe working environment.

About You
We are seeking someone with a high level customer focused WHS consultancy and advisory service to managers to facilitate the effective management of WHS with the workplace serviced. The successful candidate will have a high level of written and verbal communication skills, enabling communication across all levels within the organisation.

An eligibility list will be created for future permanent full or part time and temporary full or part time vacancies.

To be eligible for employment in these roles you must be: an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or a citizen of another country with an appropriate visa that allows you to work in Australia.
