Registered Nurse – Drug and Alcohol Clinical Services
Tamworth Community Health Service

Drug and Alcohol Clinical Services in Tamworth consists of a small, dedicated  multidisciplinary team that provides care to clients who have Drug and/or Alcohol use issues. The team works family friendly hours on Monday to Friday roster and is supported by a team of specialist medical officers and staff from other specialist drug and alcohol services in HNE. As a Registered Nurse within the team, you will provide safe, compassionate, person-centred care within the service ensuring safe care is delivered in collaboration with patients, families, carers and the multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and outcomes.

The successful candidate will possess knowledge and understanding or a willingness to learn the range of pathways and issues related to drug and alcohol treatment including harm minimisation. Some experience in Drug and Alcohol Services would be highly regarded however, this is not essential as thorough training and education will be provided. You will also have high level interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work efficiently and effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

All NSW Health workers are required to have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by 30 September 2021 and two doses by 30 November 2021 or have an approved medical contraindication certificate. You will be required to provide a record of your COVID-19 vaccination status if successful.

This position is full time however, applications for part time/job share arrangements may also be considered.

An eligibility list will be created for future permanent full or part time and temporary full or part time vacancies.

To be eligible for employment in these roles you must be: an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or a citizen of another country with an appropriate visa that allows you to work in Australia.

If you currently hold a temporary visa that allows you to live and work in Australia you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
