About the Role
Tamworth Hospital has multiple exciting opportunities for Registered Midwives to provide safe, compassionate woman centred care within the maternity and gynaecology service ensuring care is delivered in partnership with women and their families. As a midwife at Tamworth Maternity Services you will be caring for women during the birth journey, providing comfort and support to the antenatal woman or postnatal mother and baby. There is opportunity to work in antenatal clinics, caesarean section delivery of care and Home Midwifery Service. We currently have a Midwifery group practice which we are looking at expanding for those with at least two years’ experience. Most of all you will be able to gain long term friendships from the current ladies and gentlemen who work in our Maternity team. Tamworth has a highly skilled team of senior clinicians and educators that are very willing to support clinicians with advancement in practice.
Where you’ll be working
The Maternity ward is a 20 bed unit for antenatal and postnatal admissions. Within these rooms we have a mental health safe room, a room for bariatric women / clients and two negative pressure rooms. The Maternity Day Stay Unit provides an outpatient service for women who are greater than 20 weeks gestation, presenting with pregnancy related conditions, as well as women requiring assessment and additional monitoring in pregnancy or the postnatal period. Women may be referred by a health professional or self-refer. The day stay is situated in the Birth Suite and includes 2 assessment rooms. Birthing Services at TRRH is responsible for around 1150-1200 births annually. It consists of a variety of care options, utilises a multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach that promotes care in partnership with the woman and her family, and which promotes a positive birth experience.
