About the Role:

  • We have an exciting opportunity for a Physiotherapist to get hands-on experience providing a high-quality clinical service to clients/patients/ consumers and their families/carers to ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes for clients/patients/ consumers of the service.
  • You will be working with a team of physiotherapists, and you will provide care for patients in the hospital at the Close Observation Unit, Medical ward, Surgical ward, Paediatric ward, Maternity ward, Fracture clinic, and Outpatients.
  • As part of the Physiotherapy Department, you will receive supervision from colleagues and your direct line manager.
  • You will be invited to attend in-services in the department. You also be encouraged to attend appropriate courses where you can develop the skills that may improve the care you provide.

Where you’ll be working:

  • You will be working in the hospital at Close Observation Unit, Medical Ward, Surgical Ward, Paediatric Ward, Maternity Ward, Fracture Clinic and Outpatients, depending on where the demands are.
  • Armidale Rural Referral Hospital is a 99-bed facility that provides acute care services to Armidale and the surrounding towns. The hospital provides a range of services including Imaging, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Emergency, Maternity, Mental Health, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology, and General Medicine.
  • Armidale is the main hub of the New England High Country, and is one of Australia’s most elegant regional locations, with its 19th-century churches and heritage architecture. It is surrounded by beautiful forests, mountain gorges, national parks, and waterfalls, including Wollomombi Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in Australia.
  • A graceful city of tree-lined streets, Armidale is a five-and-a-half-hour drive from Sydney and less than 90 minutes from Tamworth, with flights between Sydney and Armidale operating daily.

  • The position will require the successful candidate to show skills such as self-motivation, autonomy, compassion, enthusiasm, and good time management skills in order to complete tasks required each day.

Requirements:

  • Physiotherapist with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA.
  • Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy or the equivalent.
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.

  • Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
