About the role:
The Peel Transitional Aged Care Program (TACP) is seeking a dynamic Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide a high quality clinical service to clients and their families/carers to ensure the provision of optimal outcomes for consumers of the service. You will be supported in this role with comprehensive general orientation and our skilled and supportive team. OT-specific support will be available from the Community OT Generalist and additional support is available from other experienced OT’s within our community health services and TACP services across Hunter New England.

This is an Occupational Therapist Level 3 position. However, if there are no appropriate Level 3 applicants, applications from Level 1 and 2 will be considered. The selection criteria reflects the requirements for a Level 3 applicant. Responses from Level 1 or 2 applicants need to demonstrate their level of competence with regard to the same criteria and their ability to work towards Level 3. The expected performance of the incumbent will be commensurate with his/her years of experience and current level at commencement of appointment. The incumbent will work towards meeting the criteria for Level 3.

About the Program:
The Transitional Aged Care Program (TACP) is made up of Occupational Therapists (OT), Physiotherapists, Allied Health Assistants, Administrative and Nursing staff, forming part of broader Integrated Aged Care Team of approximately 20 staff, which includes Community OT generalist, Clinical Nurse Consultants specialising in Dementia/Delirium, Psychogeriatric, Continence and Women’s Health, an End of Life Clinical Nurse Educator, and immunisation programs. TACP is a 7 day service for nursing care, with all other staff and services within business hours. TACP offers 18 community places, with existing contacts in place with other TACP services across HNE.

About you:
You are a highly motivated Occupational Therapist with a keen interest and experience in the rehabilitation of older people returning to the community after a hospital stay. You work well both independently and as part of the team, taking a collaborative approach towards assisting clients to meet their individual rehabilitation goals.

Job share arrangements will be considered. An eligibility list will be created for future temporary full or part time vacancies. 

To be eligible for employment in these roles you must be: an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or a citizen of another country with an appropriate visa that allows you to work in Australia. 
If you currently hold a temporary visa that allows you to live and work in Australia you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
