About the opportunity:
Tamworth Hospital is seeking a dedicated Clinical Coder to ensure accurate translation of narrative descriptions of diseases, injuries and procedures into alphanumeric codes using the current version of ICD-10 and the correct assignment of the DRG within the NSW Health and Local Health District timeframes. You will join our friendly and dynamic team of 6 Clinical Coders within our Clinical Coding Unit, providing coding support to other facilities as required. You will be a part of a team that are friendly and willing to share their knowledge and expertise. You will also be supported with HNELHD’s clinical coding training program and ongoing education.
You are a highly motivated individual with strong attention to detail and excellent computer and keyboard skills. Candidates who have completed a clinical coding qualification will be highly regarded, however consideration will be given to the right applicant who is enrolled in the clinical coding qualification and/or displays the aptitude to undertake. If you have an eye for detail, work well in a team and have a passion for learning then this is the job for you!
