Where you’ll be working:
  • The Tamworth Hospital Cardiorespiratory Unit supports cardiac and respiratory diagnostic testing such as cardiac echo’s, stress tests, ECG’s etc of inpatients and outpatients of Tamworth Hospital and in the greater Tamworth geographical catchment area.
  • The Unit operates from Monday – Friday business hours and this position works Monday and Tuesday.
  • The team consists of a staff specialist, administration officer, nurse and part time cardiac sonographer (Wed, Thurs and Fri).
  • The reporting line is through Tamworth Community Health who has well established links to Tamworth Hospital.
  • This is largely an autonomous role with medical support from cardiac specialists.

About the role:

  • The role is based in a clinic environment and includes ensuring the specialised equipment is functioning well and using electronic IT systems, patient records and data bases.
  • A large component of this role involves cardiac sonography.
  • You will be working in a supportive environment with medical support provided by the staff specialist and cardiologists.

  • Graduate Diploma in Cardiac Ultrasound through a tertiary institution; or nearing completion of same.
  • Current unrestricted membership with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR).
