About The Roles
Psychologists work directly with offenders in custody and recently-released offenders who have been reintroduced into the community. Our Psychologists are highly valued and essential members of the team who work hard to make a difference and provide opportunities to assist offenders in reducing the risk of re-offending. Our team doesn’t stop there! Our Psychologists assist in the development of policies, procedures, and training for other psychologists and often liaise and negotiate with stakeholders.
We currently have a number of Psychologist opportunities available across Wellington, Macquarie and throughout the Central West NSW Region.
- Delivering assessments, interventions and therapeutic services and programs to people who offend.
- Providing expert consultation to staff regarding offender mental health and risk management.
- Offering professional support and supervision to meet AHPRA requirements.
- Maintaining concise documents and notes on offenders receiving psychological services and programs.
- Preparing reports, advice and consultation to courts as directed.
- Attending professional development and networking opportunities including the annual Psychological Conference.

Working Hours and Training
- 35 hour week with flexible working arrangements.
- P/T opportunities available.

- Training in sexual and violence risk assessments.
- You must be able to demonstrate expertise in assessment and treatment in correctional psychology including mental health, cognitive impairment, and with respect to behaviour management.
- You must have a minimum 4 year accredited qualification in psychology with current provisional or general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
- You must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the psychologist’s ethical and legal obligations and professional accountability.
- Current driver’s licence with ability and willingness to travel throughout NSW.
- Please note that pre-provisional psychologists are not eligible to apply.
