Nurse Coordinator – Virtual Care (vCare)

Operations Directorate, vCare – Dubbo or Orange

About the role:
As a vCare Nurse, you’ll work to the top of your scope of practice and together with the medical specialist team, support the on-site nurses and clinicians across 38 hospitals/multipurpose services in our district in times of emergency care and escalation of care to a higher level as well as to proactively monitor patients for early detection of unwarranted clinical deterioration.

vCare provides a unique clinical model of care utilising one of the most developed digital health infrastructures in NSW including the first Australian inpatient remote monitoring software program to support LHD clinical teams.  The service is currently undergoing transformation to further improve process and governance.

Where you’ll be working:  
These positions may be located in either Dubbo or Orange, NSW – a part of the Western NSW Local Health District.

Dubbo is a major regional city with a population of around 50,000 people, situated on the beautiful Macquarie River, 420 kilometres north-west of Sydney. It is a progressive city with a thriving town centre. There are daily flights, trains and buses to the eastern seaboard and many regional towns. Known as the cosmopolitan heart of New South Wales, Dubbo has great shopping and sporting facilities and provides a perfect base from which to explore the eastern interior of our beautiful state.

The Orange region boasts easy access to modern city infrastructure (home to 41,000 residents), services and culture, pristine natural environment and an unspoilt natural beauty in the landscape which enjoys four distinct seasons in the year. The calendar of cultural, food and arts events is full, and being a safe and secure place to live, it’s a great place to raise a family as part of a friendly community.

Regular flights to Sydney, Brisbane & Melbourne leave each week and it’s just over a 3 hour drive to Sydney or Canberra from Orange.
