Competitive salary with flexible working arrangements. Working within the Office of the Secretary, Media, Communications and Engagement team. Based in Queanbeyan, Dubbo, Coffs Harbour, Armidale, or other regional NSW locations (preferred); metropolitan locations may also be considered.

About the role

The Department of Regional NSW is recruiting multiple Media and Communications Advisor roles to support programs and initiatives including disaster recovery, economic development and internal communications.

The roles will be based in the Office of the Secretary, coordinating and delivering a range of media, communications and engagement activities.

What will you be doing?

  • Help develop and implement media, communications, and engagement strategies to effectively communicate, inform and engage with audiences
  • Support the development of copy and creative writing for media, web and social media, EDMs, stakeholder letters and other communication channels
  • Support the development of content across various channels including media, websites and digital platforms, direct marketing, internal communications channels, and printed collateral to deliver regular and consistent messaging to identified audiences
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including media, Ministerial staff, Regional NSW cluster agencies and internal teams, other NSW Government agencies, groups and communities to facilitate appropriate and timely media, communications, and engagement activity
  • Work in partnership with the regional Media, Communications and Engagement Group to ensure program strategies align with the broader regional narrative and messaging, objectives and priorities.

A talent pool may be created from this recruitment action for ongoing and temporary roles of the same standard that may become available for filling over the next eighteen months. The successful applicant in this role may be required to undergo a police check, health assessment and other assessments as required.
