The Role

Reporting to the General Manager, the Maintenance & Engineering Manager will be accountable for the leadership and management of the Mobile Plant, Fixed Plant, Electrical and Reliability functions for the Tritton Copper Operation. The role also oversees capital efficiency in the execution of site engineering projects.

Developing and implementing holistic site wide Maintenance & Engineering strategies.

Actively promote a culture founded on the company values while ensuring safety is paramount above all else.

Managing of the site Capex definition and delivery program.

Effective and inspiring leadership by supporting a culture of improvement, self-development, culture change and accountability.

Managing four direct reports, whilst managing the department operating forecasts and budgets including people headcount budgets.

Ensuring best practice engineering project management governance.

Providing expert guidance in the management of operational assets, supporting implementation of plant lifecycle strategies which support the strategic business plan.

Utilising IT systems and processes to monitor and report on actual spend across site for Maintenance and Engineering resulting in decisions based on data and analytics.

About You

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent

Demonstrate a collaborative leadership style, striving for continuous improvement across the operations and seeking to contribute to the overall inclusive workforce culture of Tritton.

Experience in Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement methodology

Experience in managing large Maintenance & Engineering teams, preferably in an underground mining environment, is highly advantageous.

In depth understanding of asset and lifecycle management strategies and value chain

Experience managing the development and execution of operational and capital budgets.

Strong communication and influencing capability.

Proven track record of engaging stakeholders effectively across all levels.

The Operation

Tritton Copper Operations employs more than 400 people and is located in Hermidale in Western New South Wales. Tritton has two underground copper mines (Tritton and Murrawombie) and is forecast to produce more than 23,000 tonnes in FY2021.

Tritton is a key employer within the region and a proud supporter of the community. We are a residential mine that allows you to be home each night to either Cobar or Nyngan. Accommodation support is provided as well as company transport from both towns to the operation. Both Nyngan and Cobar are family friendly communities, with a variety of shops, gyms, and sporting activities as well as primary and high schools.
