Western NSW Local Health District (WNSWLHD) is seeking to appoint a dedicated outcomes focused executive leader in the role of Executive Director, Service Delivery. This role reports directly to the Chief Executive and will be responsible for the leadership, direction, and operational management of health service delivery across a wide range of clinical services and settings.


The successful candidate will be a senior, experienced health service leader with a track record of high performance in a complex environment. Experience and a deep understanding of the delivery of services across regional, rural, and remote settings will be highly regarded.


The WNSWLHD provides public health services to the communities of Western NSW and services a population of 280,000 dispersed across more than 31% of the land that makes up NSW Health services within the LHD include 38 inpatient facilities, 60 primary and community health services and 28 mental health facilities. The population of Western NSW LHD is projected to grow by 8% between 2011 and 2031, with different communities experiencing varying growth rates. 11.1% of the total population identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.

You will possess superior communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills bringing to the role a leadership style that is inspiring, inclusive, equitable and empowering. Your driving focus will be to improve the wellbeing and health of rural people with a determination to make Western New South Wales LHD a world-class healthcare and integrated service. You will seek to find and deliver solutions to complex service delivery obstacles by embracing technology and innovative models of care.


As part of your application, you are required to submit a response to the two targeted questions below:

  1. Can you outline a major transformation that you have led, how you brought that organisation along the journey and howe you evaluated the success of the change?
  2. Please outline your experience in ensuring that there are affective pathways of clinical care between the various parts of the health system, including pre and post hospital care as well as between the individual services and hospitals involved across the inpatient setting.
