THE OPPORTUNITY

The Economic Development Administration Officer works with a diverse team supporting the economic outcomes of the Dubbo Region through destination marketing and business and workforce development and engagement.

The position plays an important role in providing administrative support to Dubbo Regional Council’s Economic Development and Marketing branch, contributing to the effective delivery of branch services through ownership of essential administrative processes, data collation and assistance with project delivery and reporting.

While the focus will be on supporting the Manager Economic Development and Marketing, the position will also contribute to the administrative coordination of Council’s grant seeking function and broader economic development initiatives.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO

  • Branch administration duties and responsibilities
  • Purchasing and procurement
  • Customer service and public relations
  • Corporate reporting, planning and monitoring

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED

  • Certificate III in Business, Administration, Communication or related discipline.
  • Ability to construct accurate written communication for letters, applications and grant related feedback.
  • Excellent administration and organisation skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in the use of Microsoft Office software and in managing/maintaining various databases (including records management systems). 

ABOUT YOU

You are an administration professional, seeking a challenging role in a large Local Government organisation.

You are a team player and a people person who loves the rush of supporting a portfolio of work that is diverse and exciting. Importantly you are organised and have great attention to detail and personal drive that propels you to work independently and take responsibility for projects and tasks within the team.

Previous experience working in a support role for business for administration and marketing support or administrative record keeping for projects that change scope or through milestones would be considered favourably.

Salary: $59,655-$69,329 per annum plus superannuation.
