We are Dubbo Regional Council, a large regional Council servicing a growing community of over 50,000 people. With an operating expenditure budget of approximately $200 million, we have 600 team members working across a diverse range of areas including planning, infrastructure, community and cultural services, administration, economic development, corporate business and recreational services.

The Opportunity
An opportunity to play a strategic role in corporate image management and lead a professional team to deliver on a range of communication services. Reporting to the Director Economic Development and Business, this role will work closely with the Executive Team to develop and deliver creative communication programs and best practice community engagement activities.

 

In this role there will be an opportunity to

  • Lead the development and implementation of proactive and creative communication plans and engagement programs
    Be the custodian of Council’s corporate brand and policy, and oversee a range of communication services including digital, public relations, media and graphic design
  • Work closely with the wider organisation and utilise insights and analysis to inform corporate image activities aligned with Council priorities
  • Lead and further develop a team of talented communication professionals

 

To be successful in this role you will need to Key areas of accountability for this position include:

  • Understand and value the importance of strong corporate brand and its interface with stakeholders and customers
  • Have the ability to counsel, advise and take a lead with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team to manage reputation issues
  • Think independently and solve problems, including researching and analysing information and making recommendations based on relevant evidence
  • Be creative in seeking ways to build awareness of Council plans, projects and activities, in addition to enhancing the reputation of Dubbo Regional Council

 

About you
We are looking for an exceptional communicator with the ability, experience and attitude to drive the development of DRC corporate image and deliver positive communication outcomes. You are an experienced leader who will value the opportunity to lead a creative team of communication professionals. With a strong understanding of corporate image and communication practices, you are passionate about effective internal and external communications.

You are confident in your stakeholder management ability and can utilise your influencing skills to facilitate positive outcomes. Using you background in private enterprise and/or government you will be able to respond to a diverse range of communication challenges, comprehend complex information and clearly articulate and develop proposed responses or actions.

Salary: Total Remuneration Package $129,381-$175,044 per annum. A Leaseback vehicle is available.
