THE OPPORTUNITY

The Communications Partner is responsible for providing strategic advice and provision of communication services to a diverse range of internal clients including media management, digital communications, stakeholder engagement, corporate sponsorships and integrated communication plans. 

This position is also responsible for building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver creative, insightful and measurable communication strategies and activities for the organisation.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO

  • Act as a central contact for Council media (national and local) enquiries, and oversee Council’s media management program and activities.
  • Develop and implement media and communications campaigns and materials for internal clients.
  • Deliver integrated communication services, strategies and projects across a range of publications, media (including print and broadcast media), social channels and digital platforms, such as video streaming.  
  • Ability to create and manage video, audio, web and social media content.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED

  • Diploma in Journalism, Communications, Marketing or related discipline or experience commensurate to the qualification.
  • Demonstrates excellent writing, proofing and editing skills.
  • Demonstrates excellent project management and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work successfully as a member of a team or autonomously.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced media, communications, marketing or public relations role in a diverse organisation.
  • Ability to create and manage web content and social media.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in the role you will need a diploma in journalism, communications or related discipline or experience in the media (broadcast, print or digital) commensurate to the qualification. You will also need to demonstrate excellent writing, proofing and editing skills. You will have a passion for consistent, quality communications and a strong track record in media, communications or public relations management, and supported by highly creative and concise ability to write in plain English in a way that effectively engages our audience.

Salary: $79,147-$91,980 per annum plus superannuation.
