We have exciting opportunity for talented people to work in our Spatial Operations team. This is a mid-entry level positions, while a background or understanding of remote sensing, coding (python/ArcPy), spatial mapping and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) is advantageous it is not essential to being successful in these roles.

We are looking for people who have a keen attention to detail, enjoy working with numbers, have sound computer skills, are passionate and motivated, keen to learn and develop, and are interested in learning more about specialist remote sensing processing, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), mapping, and GIS.

This role sits within the Environmental Spatial Programs (ESP) team within Spatial Operations. The ESP team is responsible for the capture, sourcing and production of Imagery, Elevation and Water spatial data. The primary purpose of these roles is to assist with the production of airborne imagery products, airborne LiDAR products and/or the water data maintenance programs.

Your day-to-day Responsibilities will include:
You will work in the Environmental Spatial Team to undertake a range of tasks related to the management and presentation of geographic and spatial information. You will focus primarily on Remote Sensing Imagery and Elevation knowledge sets.

  • Apply knowledge and sound computer skills in the application of contemporary technologies to capture, maintain and enhance spatial information
  • Assist in identifying options for system and process improvements
  • Maintain records and security of information
  • Support the maintenance of reliable and accurate spatial information
  • Work collaboratively in a team and complete activities in a timely and effective manner
  • Use initiative and problem-solving skills to investigate solutions to data anomalies and to identify improvements to processes and procedures
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to build knowledge, skills and capabilities and improve organisational performance and outcomes

Salary Grade (Departmental Officer – Grade 3-4), with the base salary for this role starting at $79032 base plus superannuation
