Southern NSW Local Health District covers a large area of the state, from Goulburn and Crookwell to the Victorian border, and surrounds the ACT on three sides, a total of 44 537sq kms. It extends from the pristine beaches of the NSW South Coast, the farmlands of the Southern Tablelands, across the picturesque Great Dividing Range and the spectacular Snowy Mountains.

Southern NSWLHD comprises of four Networks – Tablelands centred around Goulburn, Monaro centred around Queanbeyan and Cooma, the Coastal Network located in the far south-east corner of NSW, and the Integrated Care Network.

Where you’ll be working

Yass District Hospital is part of the Tablelands Network. It is a 12 bed acute care facility that offers emergency medicine; acute medical inpatient services; pathology collection; pharmacy (outreach from Queanbeyan); and medical imaging (x-ray).

Crookwell District Hospital is part of the Tablelands Network. It is an 18 bed acute care facility that offers emergency medicine; medical inpatient services; pathology collection; medical imaging (x-ray – outreach from Goulburn and remote operator (medical)) and the Wellness Centre. The Wellness Centre provides structured exercise and activity for elderly clients to help maintain functional fitness and independence.

What you’ll be doing

Provide contemporary comprehensive specialist services for optimal patient outcomes.

Provide and support training to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.

Selection Criteria: * Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist General Practitioner or training towards

  • Demonstrated recent clinical experience in Emergency Medicine
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team
  • Demonstrated effective communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, and research and quality improvement.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to all aspects of clinical governance
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently display a commitment to, and compliance with, and leadership in high quality Customer Service, Workplace Diversity, Occupational Health & Safety and Industrial Democracy principles, practices and relevant legislation relating to these areas and an understanding of and commitment to the organisation’s values
  • Demonstrated commitment to participation in on-call rosters and providing timely on-site responses

This is a Category ‘A’ position, please read and understand NSW Health policy directive

Applicants must have completed the COVID-19 vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

ASARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) 3 doses are required for Category A positions (refer to NSW Policy Directive PD2022_030 Occupational Assessment Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases).

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate.
