About Us :

CL Commodities is a leading player in the grain export industry, dedicated to providing high-quality grain packed into shipping containers for international export.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Yard Foreman to join our team and lead a group of yard staff in maintaining a high standard of efficiency and quality.

Role Overview :

As a site manager, you will play a crucial role in the smooth operation of our grain packing facility. You will lead a team of dedicated yard staff to ensure that the packing process is executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.

This is a hands-on working manager role that requires a keen eye for detail, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead, train, and supervise yard staff to ensure efficient and accurate grain packing processes.
  • Monitor and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Oversee the loading of grain into shipping containers.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate truck, packing and shipping schedules.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of grain inventory, packaging materials, and equipment usage.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any operational challenges to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
  • Assist in the recruitment and training of new yard staff as needed.
  • Act as a point of contact for any inquiries or concerns from team members or management.

Requirements :

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or management role, preferably in a similar grain packaging or logistics environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
  • Proficiency in operating and overseeing the use of relevant yard equipment and machinery.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a warehouse or industrial setting.
  • Reach stacker license is highly favourable.
  • AQIS (Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service) authorized officer certification is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts and weekends as required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
