An exciting ongoing opportunity has arisen for 2 Senior Commercial Officers to join the NSW Telco Authority, a rapidly growing part of Digital.NSW within the Department of Customer Service.

The successful candidates will be experienced individuals and play a key role in managing a variety of categories and vendors with accountability for end-to-end sourcing activities, negotiations and contract management.

The roles sits within the Commercial team in the Commercial Operations, Equipment Support Business Unit of NSW Telco Authority.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and administer contract management plans, negotiate changes and modifications, supplier performance management and compliance requirements through effective supplier relationships to enhance business outcomes

  • Partner with staff from across the organisation providing high level advice and guidance to build expertise in contracts, procurement, provide governance and improve procurement practice and outcomes

  • Identify, record and escalate contractual risks and issues Analyzing and interpreting complex contract terms and conditions, advising on their impact and associated risk and liability to stakeholders at all levels.

  • Liaising with teams within and outside the agency providing sound commercial and contractual advice.

  • Develop team members to improve skills and knowledge uplift to deliver to achieve contractual performance outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Robust understanding of telecommunications environment, relevant statutory regulations and client standards, technical design and construction obligations.

  • Sound understanding of contract development/ management, supplier management and governance processes along with an awareness of industry leading commercial and governance best practices.

  • Comprehensive understanding of commercial and legal issues that impact the delivery of a major infrastructure project.

  • Strong understanding of commercial management and negotiation skills including interpretating and apply contract terms and legislative provisions.

  • Ability to develop / foster successful working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

  • An understanding of contracts management in a government environment will be highly regarded.

Salary Grade 9/10, with the base salary for this role starting at $120859 base plus superannuation
