What you will be doing:
An exciting opportunity awaits for a Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Department at Lithgow Hospital on a permanent full time or part time basis.

This imperative role will see you provide safe and effective patient-centred nursing care to the patients/clients and carers of the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.

Your role as Registered Nurse will see you:
  • Demonstrate knowledge and application of the skills required of a registered nurse in contemporary nursing practice, including knowledge and understanding of appropriate equipment, legislation, policies and procedures
  • Maintain patient comfort, privacy, dignity and safety at all times
  • Utilise a proactive, problem solving approach in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating all aspects of clinical care
  • Be actively involved in maintaining, implementing and updating patient care plans and clinical pathways

New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health or provide an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. A NSW Health agency may require further information about the medical contraindication (including but not limited to an Immunisation Medical Exemption form – IM011 form.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.

Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.

Selection Criteria to be addresssed:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse – Division 1 with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work
  • Recent experience working in an acute care environment
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills, verbal and written
  • Demonstrated understanding of the principles of Occupational Health & Safety in the workplace
  • Able to perform effectively as a team member
  • Ability to work 7 day rotating roster including morning evening & night shift
