What you will be doing:
An amazing opportunity is now available to join the Medical Imaging team in a Permanent Full time role located at Lithgow Hospital. Lithgow Hospital provides a range of allied health, medical, surgical, and including a comprehensive community health care.
Your role, as a Radiographer, will see you provide a high-quality medical imaging service across a range of clinical areas that is patient focused and in accordance with the objectives and policies of NBMLHD. The Radiographer will also ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes for patients of the service, using current medical imaging safety standards.
This position is an imperative role within the team, and our preferred candidate will participate in, as well as support quality improvement activities at departmental levels, including initiate/assist with strategies to control and avoid hazards in the workplace and is responsible for maintaining infection control and a clean and tidy workplace.
This position is suitable for either a new graduate radiographer looking to kickstart their career in NSW Health or an experienced Radiographer looking to expand their skills in a friendly and well supported environment.

Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
Selection Criteria to be Addressed: * Degree in Medical Radiation Science and current registration with APHRA as a Medical Radiation Practitioner (Diagnostic Radiography)
- Current I14 Radiation Licence from NSW EPA
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Previous experience in a hospital environment including areas such as General, Mobiles, Theatre, Trauma Radiography and some exposure to CT
- Demonstrated understanding of WH&S and infection control in a radiology context
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve and manage time effectively in a clinical environment
