About the role

The Deputy Director of Nursing (DDON) provides professional leadership to all nursing staff within Mental Health Drug Alcohol (MHDA) Bloomfield Inpatient Services, with a focus on operational leadership and management of nursing services to enable delivery of high standards of care for consumers and their families.

Working with us in the Western NSW Local Health District you will be supported in an inclusive, compassionate and caring team environment and you will have the opportunity to make an impact and shape the future of rural health through projects, innovations and research.

You will be based at Mental Health Drug & Alcohol Services (MHDA) Bloomfield Campus. Bloomfield Campus – Mental Health Drug & Alcohol (MHDA) – is in Orange, NSW approximately 4km from the CBD.

The campus is situated in landscaped and park gardens, with a mix of modern and heritage listed buildings.

MHDA Bloomfield Campus has over 164 beds and provides inpatient services across 11 units which includes a child and adolescent unit, a state-wide forensic rehabilitation unit, a mental health intensive care unit, adult acute unit, older person’s acute unit, and a range of non-acute state-wide and district inpatient units for adults and older people.
