Superintendent Compliance 

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced leader with a diverse range of skills, to head-up Murray River Councils Compliance team. 

 

The Superintendent will be responsible for managing a multidisciplinary team of compliance professionals, undertaking various compliance activities including the areas of animal management and environmental health. You will work towards improving Council wide compliance processes, reporting on outputs and undertaking day to day activities both in the field and the office.

 

Murray River Council’s Compliance team offer a vast array of compliance activities in a diverse rural community. No two days will ever be the same.

About the role 

The Superintendent Compliance role leads the delivery of Council-wide compliance services. You will ensure the community understands and abides by statutory requirements related to Environmental Health, Regulatory Services and animal compliance, as well as other various compliance related and regulatory services administered by Council. 

In this role you will investigate, action and represent Council in relation to complaints and breaches across all relevant legislation and local government laws. You will all aspect relating to represent Council in Court hearings

What you need to be successful:

  • Passion for working in a diverse rural setting
  • Clear understanding of compliance regulations 
  • Current Manual Driver’s Licence
  • Minimum Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Service)
  • Current Category A & B Firearms Licence (or the ability to obtain)
  • Demonstrated Knowledge of workplace health and safety (WHS) responsibilities
  • Sound Analytical and Leadership Skills

Desirable: 

  • Experience as an Authorised Officer in Local Government 
  • Proficiency using computers, related software and mobile electronic devices
  • Extensive knowledge of Animal management
