About the Role

Reporting into the Branch Manager, Service Supervisor is responsible for supervising and leading the day-to-day operations of service and parts activities for the Albury branch. The position is critical in ensuring the team complies with TMHA standards whilst focusing on achieving service levels and KPIs to assist with the growth for the branch.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations for the technicians within the field and workshop, ensuring they meet TMHA expectations and standards in relations to quality of work, safety and customer experience.
  • In conjunction with the Administration Officer, Manage parts for the branch including inventory levels to ensure efficient and effective service operation in the branch.
  • Assist technicians with spare parts including stock levels for the branch and respond to any parts related issues that technicians may have;
  • Conduct part stock takes in keeping with TMHA policy
  • Review utilisation rate of technicians and ensure that they perform the requirements and duties of their position;
  • Maintain Work In Progress (WIP) reports and ensure technicians complete required paperwork in timely manner;
  • Monitor and control the rental repair and maintenance costs;
  • Conduct random visits to technicians at customer sites to ensure that work is carried out in accordance with TMHA’s quality standards;
  • Address customer enquiries and represent company in a professional manner at all times
  • Understand and resolve technician and customer related issues;
  • Review and manage safety matters to ensure that technicians work is a safe manner;
  • Manage the maintenance and condition of service vehicles;
  • Identify, plan and coordinate training and development requirements for technicians.

Skills and Experience:

  • Trade Qualification – Heavy Plant, Motor Mechanic, auto electrics or similar/relevant.
  • Extensive experience as a technician in the Material Handling Industry or similar/relevant industry.
  • Solid knowledge of Work Health Safety within a relevant/similar industry/environment
  • Previous experience with spare parts and inventory control;
  • Experience in mentoring and guiding teams to achieve outcomes
  • Proven experience in a managing a team of employees, dispute resolution and dealing with performance and customer issues
  • Strong leadership skills including people management and supervision;
  • Strong skills in communication (written and oral) and negotiation with internal and external customers at all levels.
