Spinifex Recruiting is working with a reputable Construction client to secure a Purchasing Officer (Procurement) for an upcoming local project in Culcairn NSW.

This is a full-time contract with a duration of 12 months.

Salary range between $90-110K + superannuation, with an immediate commencement date.

Our client is a construction and civil engineering company, operating in more than 60 countries. They provide world-class services in building, civil engineering, earthworks, renewable energy, and mining services.

The Role

The Purchacing Officer will support and report to the Procurement Manager. This person will play a vital role in maintaining positive vendor relationships, optimising inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures. Additionally, this individual will coordinate and execute all aspects of the procurement process, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services for the organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Procurement planning: Working with other departments to identify purchasing requirements and develop plans, identifying and evaluating suppliers and proposals and quotations.
  • Purchasing order processing: Generate purchase orders, ensuring accurate specifications, pricing, and delivery times, as well as coordinating with suppliers around order processing, shipment, and processing.
  • Supplier management: Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships through accurate communication, evaluating their performance regularly.
  • Inventory management: Monitor inventory levels and forecasts to optimise stock holding whilst working internally to identify excess inventory.
  • Compliance: Maintain accurate procurement records, preparing reports and analytics.

Desired Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications in Management/Purchasing/ Procurement with 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Methodical, organised, and meticulous with high attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
