The Position
The position will deliver Council’s Finance Business Partner function, through pro-actively partnering with senior stakeholders to inform, advise and support financial management decision making and business strategy development.

Qualifications & experience 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or equivalent relevant qualification
  • CPA/CA Qualification (or working towards)
  • Demonstrated experience working in a supervisory accountant role within a diverse organisation

Tasks & responsibilities 

  • Lead & manage a small team of Finance Business Partners including; performance management, training and development, workflow coordination and developing a high level of morale and harmony.
  • Pro-actively partner Council’s various business units through the provision of insightful & actionable recommendations to assist decision making and improve business outcomes. 
  • Develop, manage & coordinate monthly financial performance review processes with senior stakeholders across the organisation. Identify emerging budget issues, forecast and re-forecast budget estimates to provide timely and accurate reporting over Council’s EOFY forecast position. 
  • Manage & coordinate quarterly and annual budget review cycles, maintain and update Council’s four year and Ten Year Financial Plan including the conduct of budget workshops with senior stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the corporate planning process through the preparation of budgetary components of the delivery plan and operational plan.

Based on a 35 hour week, with actual days and times being Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm, with an RDO in accordance with AlburyCity’s RDO guidelines.
